Strange Goodbye

Strange Goodbye is a short film created for the 17th Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial. A Japanese woman travels to Spain after receiving a letter from the father she lost contact with as a child. As she searches for him, memories of a journey they once shared begin to merge with the present. Moving through a selection of awarded architectural works, the film uses architecture not as its subject, but as the setting for life, memory and relationships.

『奇妙な別れ』

第17回スペイン建築・都市計画ビエンナーレのために制作された短編映画。

幼い頃に疎遠になった父親から手紙を受け取った日本人女性が、スペインへと旅立つ。父親を探すなかで、かつて父とともに旅した記憶が、現在の旅と重なり合っていく。

受賞した建築作品の数々を舞台に、建築そのものを主題とするのではなく、人生や記憶、人と人との関係を映し出す背景として建築を捉えている。
