Stéphane Demoustier

Born in Lille, France, in 1977, Stéphane Demoustier began his career with several short films before making his feature debut with 40-Love in 2014, which was selected for Critics’ Week at the 71st Venice International Film Festival. His subsequent medium-length film Cléo & Paul (2017) was presented in the Generation section of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival. The Girl with a Bracelet (2019), which premiered at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival, won the César Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2023, he directed Borgo, for which lead actress Hafsia Herzi received the César Award for Best Actress. The Great Arch is his fourth feature film.
