Daphné Mandel

Daphné Mandel (French, b. 1975) is a Hong Kong-based artist and architect, exploring the city’s transitional landscapes through digital and traditional media. Since 2008, her work—exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong, Taipei Dangdai, and ART021 Shanghai—juxtaposes heritage and modernity. A graduate of Versailles’ landscape architecture program, she co-founded Gilot & Mandel Paysage in Paris and was honoured as ‘Best Young Urban Planning Professional’ by the French Ministry of Culture in 2006. Represented by Gallery EXIT, Mandel is now designing permanent art installations for Hong Kong’s Kwu Tung MTR station, part of the Northern Metropolis._JAP_（フランス出身、1975年生まれ） 香港を拠点に活動するアーティスト／建築家。デジタルと伝統的なメディアを駆使しながら、都市の移り変わる風景をテーマに作品を制作している。2008年以降、彼女の作品はアート・バーゼル香港、台北當代、ART021上海などの国際的なアートフェアで発表されており、遺産と現代性を対比的に表現するスタイルが特徴。ヴェルサイユのランドスケープ・アーキテクチャ（景観設計）プログラムを卒業後、パリにてGilot & Mandel Paysageを共同設立。2006年にはフランス文化省より「最優秀若手都市計画専門家」に選出された。現在はGallery EXIT（ギャラリー・イグジット）に所属し、香港・古洞（クウトン）MTR駅のための恒久的なアートインスタレーションを手がけるなど、北部都市圏プロジェクトの一環としても活動を展開している。
